Notes for the feedback review
Thank you for taking the time to review the new website that we’re developing for the club!
As you go through the pages, please consider the following remarks and questions:
1) The current website is still a prototype! We’re testing several things, and some details are not finished yet.
2) We’re focused on the look and feel of the website. The content will be changed – no need to focus too much on that!
3) We created some variations of the same pages, just for this feedback round:
- The START page has variations in the main photo (colour vs B&W image), in the blocks below it and in the background colour (official brown vs darker grey)
- The PROBETRAINING FAQ is presented as the bottom section of the TRAINING page and as a separate page.
- The LINKS page has a version with a dark background, and another with a light one.
- The X page (this one) is temporary.
- The “Try it out” button is a quick link to the PROBETRAINING FAQ section.
Appearance:
- We are aiming for a more modern look, also adapted for mobile format.
- We are also testing a darker theme, since many people are adopting this in their devices, and it’s a bit easier on the eyes.
- The selection of images (photos and illustrations) is not final. The current choices will be reviewed.
- There are some visual references to the historical fencing part, but not many. This might be reinforced, depending on feedback.
- The main colours (dark brown, strong yellow and red) are based on the official branding ofthe Club and HEMA. In a few cases, we used some alternatives or minor variations, to be reviewed.
- The font sizes and types are also not final.
- The text in the pages includes some visual reminders and notes, as well as some filler text in some parts, partly in English. Please ignore.
- Links for downloads and external resources are not final and might not work correctly.
- Buttons, links and other small graphical elements will be made more consistent as well.
Functionality:
- The website has two target audiences:
- The current members, who should find most of the important stuff under MITGLIEDSCHAFT
- Newcomers, interested in trying it out. The START and TRAINING pages should be useful for them.
- The website should be easy to use and provide several ways to find relevant content: direct links in the menu and inside pages, or duplication of some content (such as the training schedules).
- Do you like the general appearance (layout, colours and images)?
- Is the dark theme ok?Do you prefer colour or B&W photos ?
- Are the structure and navigation options clear enough?
- Is the general placement of the content helfpul and where you would expect things to be?
- Would you suggest any potential, specific improvements?
- Did you find any obvious errors (asides form the remarks above)?
